Application Criteria

Exploring Skills in CREDIT

Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis until all places are filled.  However to ensure a balanced representation from all school sectors, places will be allocated in categories as follows:

Controlled sector (primary or post-primary)  8 places
Maintained sector (primary or post-primary)  8 places
Integrated sector (primary or post-primary)  2 places
Other sectors (e.g. nursery, special, Irish medium,  etc.)  2 places

If any category remains unfilled at the closing date for applications, the project staff may use their discretion to fill the places using applicants from other categories, on a first-come first-served basis, while still ensuring a balanced representation from all sectors as far as possible.  In the first instance, applications will be restricted to 1 teacher from each school.

Extending Skills in CREDIT

Applicants will be asked to write a personal statement outlining their previous experience working in relevant areas.  Examples of relevant experience might include, but are not limited to:

•    successful completion of Exploring Skills in CREDIT course;
•    leadership position in school in relation to PDMU or Local and Global Citizenship;
•    experience in working with cross-community school partnerships.

After the closing date the project staff will draw up a shortlist of applicants satisfying these criteria. Places will then be allocated on a first-come first-served basis drawn from this shortlist, until places are filled.  However to ensure a balanced representation from all school sectors, places will be allocated in categories as follows:

Controlled sector (primary or post-primary)  8 places
Maintained sector (primary or post-primary)  8 places
Integrated sector (primary or post-primary)  2 places
Other sectors (e.g. nursery, special, Irish medium, etc.)  2 places

If any category remains unfilled at the closing date for applications, the project staff may use their discretion to fill the places using shortlisted applicants from other categories, on a first-come first-served basis, while still ensuring a balanced representation from all sectors as far as possible.  In the first instance, applications will be restricted to 1 teacher from each school.
