Leadership Skills in CREDIT

Target Audience: This course is suitable for principals who want to lead the school forward in CRED practices through practical consideration of planning, implementation, monitoring and reviewing at a whole-school level.

Key Themes of the Courses:

  • Policy perspective for diversity and mutual understanding - rationale, policy and practice, relevant research;
  • Focus on CRED policy: incorporating CRED practice into school development plans;
  • Practical approach to writing effective policies;
  • Identification of relevant, age-appropriate curriculum and learning resources including support organisations to best meet the needs of children and young people;
  • Reflection upon existing good practice in Shared Education;
  • Practical options and opportunities for contact, sharing and collaboration between schools.

Elements of Completion: Full attendance and completion of a presentation task requiring principals to reflect on the course and prepare a proposal for a future programme for their school.

Other Information: Substitute cover and travel expenses will be provided for all those principals who take part fully in the courses.
