What are the benefits of this type of activity...? The easy answer would be to simply say that they are plentiful! I find that when you engage in any kind of training course with other teachers it offers a great opportunity to share ideas and experience.

I found that the CREDIT course covered a great range of school profiles and teacher experiences which in turn allowed for healthy discussion. Looking to the future, it is my intention to share with the rest of my staff what I picked up from my experience of the course and hopefully it will encourage others to engage in further courses or at very least be more open to and aware of diversity within their own classrooms.

I have found it really useful to be reminded about the importance of preparing our pupils to deal with the issues that may surface in their life and it is a reminder to myself and others of the role of school and the responsibility that we have as teachers.

I completed a course similar to this one a few years back and found in most inspiring at the time however, it is amazing how I have forgotten many of the approaches and the positive impact it had on me as a teacher. It was great to refresh my aging mind and indeed rejuvenate my thinking once again.

The boys have enjoyed looking at the school values as part of school council training and they have had a positive impact on the rest of the school through reporting back to their class and evidence gathering.

I have found that with the CREDIT course immediate action was taken in our school for the school council, which had been in the background for a long time. The children are very excited and most teachers are very enthusiastic. Over all I feel that big positive changes have occurred in our school in a very short space of time!

I have found that the feedback and the responses from the children have made the whole course worthwhile.

It has been very beneficial for our whole staff to explore our own values, and really think about our own preconceived perceptions of people and situations in our everyday environment. Now that we realise where we are in our values and beliefs we have a sharper focus for developing positive attitudes and beliefs in our pupils. Through time I feel as a school we will be able to address community relations in our wider community as these strategies developed through CREDIT gives us a greater confidence in our ability.

I feel that involvement in these types of activities is very positive at a personal level.  It provides time and space to analyse your own outlook, preconceptions and gives opportunity to challenge these.  As a knock on effect this should then feed into others we work and live with.  The task requirement of the course ensures we actually put some of what we've learned into practice.

The fact that we had participated in it on the course enabled me to feel confident to facilitate it.

I think I was able to look at our school in a different way and see how great the need is for our school to take on board these ideas in order to meet our vision and aims.
