A Career Entry Profile should be completed by all PGCE and final year Bachelor of Education students before commencing work as a teacher. It is a document needed for Induction in schools.
The Carol Service is a celebration of Christmas in words and music and is held annually, usually the last Thursday before Christmas at a local church. TheUniversityCollegecommunity is notified via email and posters are displayed around campus.
The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) is the official agency for the collection, analysis and dissemination of quantitative information about higher education in the UK . It was set up, by agreement between the relevant government departments, the higher education funding councils and the universities and colleges, in 1993, following the White Paper Higher Education, a new framework, which called for more coherence in HE statistics, and the 1992 Higher and Further Education Acts, which established an integrated higher education system throughout the United Kingdom. Surveys of graduates are usually carried out on an annual basis between November and February, inclusive.
Examinations are held biannually in College Hall. The QSIS system is updated regularly.
A leavers’ booklet is made available to PGCE and Bachelor of Education final year students to assist them with entering the workforce. The packs are prepared for distribution at the Recruitment Fair, usually held annually in January. In addition, booklets may be collected from Learning & Student Services.
All current & past students (up to two years) can name Dr Clifford Boyd, Vice Principal as a referee without prior consent. All GTC forms are completed by Dr Clifford Boyd, Vice Principal.
The mentor role is one way of supporting new students as they join the University College Community. The Mentor Scheme operates all-year round to support undergraduates.
A transcript is an important confidential document that is issued to past or present students providing confirmation of their academic history. All requests for student transcripts need to be made in writing to Learning & Student Services who are responsible for collating and preparing student transcripts.
An official transcript includes a covering letter, details of academic record and extracts from the Queen's University Belfast Calendar for the commencement year of the course. To assist us with preparation of a student transcript please include with your written request as much information as possible e.g
Documentation will not be released until payment of £25.00 is received. Cheques may be made payable to Stranmillis University College . Students who commenced a University course from September 1996 may access an unofficial copy of their academic transcript (record) QSIS.

Held in September, Welcome & Orientation Week , is a programme of events designed to provide new and existing students with a broader understanding about the environment in which they will be studying. A tour of the Library and Learning Resource Centre is included as well as the provision of vital information from IT Services . Welcome & Orientation Week is held prior to commencement of classes on Monday 19th September 2011. This is a good time to ensure that you are enrolled on the appropriate modules, that class times don’t clash, that you know where to locate classrooms, amenities, resources etc. Booking in to Halls of Residence and ensuring that car parking arrangements suit your needs are also completed during this period. Students who have volunteered to become involved in the Student Mentor Scheme will be able to meet with Year 1 students during this time.
