All borrower categories other than College staff
1 Main stock, Teaching Resources and Illustrations

Fines are calculated at 10 pence per item per day.
Saturdays and Sundays count as dead days.
A period of grace of 5 working days is allowed before fines begin to accumulate.

2 Consultation (overnight and week end loans only)

Fines are calculated at 50 pence per item for 1st hour overdue (i.e. from 9.30am), and thereafter at £1 per hour.

Staff borrowers

No fines are charged for any type of item.

2 LOST CARDS

A charge of £5 is payable for the replacement of a lost borrower card issued by the Library. The replacement of a lost Queen's University Student borrower card is subject to the charges levied by the University.

3 LOST ITEMS

A charge equal to the cost of replacing a lost item plus an administration charge of £5 is payable on any item lost by a borrower. If the item is no longer in print and available, a charge equal to the original cost to the Library plus an administration charge of £5 is payable.

4 INTER LIBRARY LOANS

No charge is made for inter library loans requests made on behalf of borrowers (with the exception of Extern borrowers) other than a charge of 10 pence per sheet for loans supplied in photocopy for retention by the borrower. Extern borrowers are charged 10 per item for each successful inter library loan application.
