DEL Public Consultation on Proposed Merger

The Minister for Employment and Learning has launched a 12 week consultation on the ‘Proposed discontinuance of Stranmillis University College and its proposed merger with Queen’s University of Belfast’.  Speaking at the event the Minister said:

“Having received assurances that the traditions, ethos and estate of Stranmillis can be protected through the legislative process, I fully support this exciting proposal to create a world class centre of teacher education at Stranmillis, and look forward to hearing the views of others”.

The Consultation Document can be accessed from the link below.  Schools are fully encouraged to read the proposal and to submit responses by the closing date of 10th June 2011.
