Teaching Resources

One of the current challenges facing teachers in both primary and post-primary schools is how to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of children and young people for whom English is an additional language.  Inclusion and Diversity has become central to the future of educational provision in our schools, highlighting the need to enable all pupils to access the curriculum and realise their potential.

The Stranmillis University College Certificate in English as an Additional Language provides professional development to enable teachers to understand the needs of children in primary and post primary schools for whom English is not a first language.  It aims to develop reading, writing, listening and talking skills in the English language across the curriculum.

The University College offers courses on EAL for teachers and other professionals, on a regular basis.

Courses will be advertised in the local press and on the University College website.
