Gamelan   Javanese pélog

Open Arts owns a magnificent hand-carved gamelan – a suite of percussion and melodic intruments from Indonesia. This beautiful set of instruments, made on the island of Java, currently resides in Stranmillis University College. It  is available for use by community groups.  You don’t need any experience. In fact, it’s probably better if you’ve never played an instrument in your life before, as long as you’re good at listening to others! We welcome community groups throughout Northern Ireland - especially disabled people.
