QUB Emergency Telephone Counselling Support

During out-of-hours students can avail of QUB emergency telephone counselling support on Freephone 0800 389 5362.

The Samaritans

The Samaritans is a nation-wide charity which provides confidential emotional support to anyone in a crisis. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can be contacted on 08457 909090 (national line) or 028 9066 4422 (Belfast branch).

Alternatively TEXT them on their 24/7 emotional support helpline which will respond within 10 minutes of receiving your text.

If you’re in distress or despair, call Lifeline free on 0808 808 8000.
Calls to Lifeline are answered by trained counsellors who can provide help and support. Counsellors are experienced in dealing with suicide, self-harm, abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety and many other issues.
Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Calls are free from all landlines and mobiles.
