What is Welcome & Orientation Week?

Welcome and Orientation week is the first week of the new academic session.  It is used to prepare you for the forthcoming years of study at Stranmillis University College.  There are many informative sessions taking place throughout the week which will give you both general & specific information about the University College and the environs.   Please take a look at the timetable for further information.

Are my family members welcome?

YES.  We welcome parents and family members on campus.  There will a coffee mornings at which some members of staff will be present to answer questions.  Alternatively, family members can use the facilities at Chatz while you continue discovering what is on campus.

What is the purpose of Welcome & Orientation week?

Its primary purpose is help you prepare for classes that commence on Monday 28th September 2009.  It is a great opportunity for you to establish friendships, organise parking arrangements and settle in to your accommodation.  The workshops being held throughout the week will provide you with practical tips on how to adapt to university life with ease.  At the end of Welcome & Orientation week we hope that you have achieved a sense of community and belonging along with developing important contacts with your peers and members of staff.  The ultimate aim is to provide you with information about academia, pastoral care and the wider community.
