Research Resources for RE

Research Resources for RE is based at Stranmillis University College.

Its aims are to:

  • Support teachers in the delivery of Religious Education in Primary    and Post-Primary schools through the dissemination of creative research and writing on Religious Education
  • Provide a platform for students who have completed high quality undergraduate or postgraduate research by editing and publishing their work in an accessible format
  • Stimulate discussion and debate around key issues in relation to Religious Education, particularly relating to Northern Ireland
  • Increase awareness of issues of diversity, spiritualty and values in the curriculum

The organisers of Research Resources for RE at Stranmillis University College are James Nelson, Norman Richardson, amd David Armstrong. All teach on teacher education courses and have a sound track record in developing curriculum materials for Primary and Post-Primary Religious Education as well as academic writing in the fields of Religious Education, teacher education and on issues of diversity and mutual understanding.

Our three main areas of focus are currently the Small World Project, dissemination of the work of Farmington scholars supervised at Stranmillis University College and the publication of a series of occassional academic papers.

We also run an email list to keep RE teachers abreast of our new publications as well as informing them of events and opportunities for professional development.
