International Policy Documents

Stranmillis University College has a long, distinguished history of international development work, research and student exchange, managed by the International Development team, a vibrant International Office and an International Development Committee.

Since 1993 we have been exchanging students, through the Erasmus Lifelong Learning Programme, with partners in Europe and we now have links with 29 European partner institutions.  In the late 1990s student exchange opportunities were extended worldwide and we now operate student exchange with partner institutions in Hong Kong, China, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa and the USA.

The University College has a signed bi-lateral agreement with each of the European partners and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with each international institution to specify the principles of the exchange agreements. These are regularly checked and updated.  With the introduction of the new Erasmus Plus programme it is our intention to consolidate these links further and to develop new partnership links worldwide, with a view to furthering student and staff exchange and opportunities for joint research and professional development activity.

The European Commission awarded Stranmillis University College the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for the whole period of the Erasmus+ Programme (2014-2020).
