Background & Qualifications

  • BEd (Hons) primary teacher trained (Stranmillis UC, 1990)
  • 1990-95 studied for a DPhil at UU (An evaluation of the contribution of sport to community relations in Northern Ireland)
  • 1990-94 – part-time lecturing at UU on BEd and BSc degree programmes
  • 1994-96 – play/leisure policy officer with PlayBoard and Newtownabbey Borough Council
  • 1996-98 – European Projects Funding Officer with the Childhood Fund
  • 1998-2001 – Manager NiPPA the Early Years Organisation
  • 2001-2005 – UCH Trust Childcare Partnership Co-ordinator
