International Exchange
Stranmillis University College, a university college of Queen’s University Belfast, is recognised internationally for its excellence in educational research, teaching and learning. Each year, we welcome students from around the world to join us for semester‑long and short‑term international programmes.
Our International Exchange Programme is designed for student teachers, teaching assistants, and those working in community education, sport, health promotion and youth work. We remain committed to building and sustaining strong relationships with both our current and future EU and global partners.
Students from our international exchange partner institutions can study at Stranmillis as part of a bi‑lateral exchange agreement. Your home institution must hold an Inter‑Institutional Agreement with Stranmillis University College in a relevant subject area. You can check whether we have an agreement with your university by exploring our list of Global Partners. Exchanges can last for one or two semesters.
To apply for an exchange at Stranmillis University College, you must first be nominated by the International Office at your home institution. You can then explore our International Exchange opportunities in more detail.
For more information, or for general international queries, please email the International Team at International@Stran.ac.uk.
We are delighted to welcome students to Stranmillis, where they will quickly become part of our vibrant community, experience Northern Ireland’s rich culture, build long‑lasting friendships, and grow both personally and professionally.
Incoming exchange students can choose from a range of modules across our undergraduate programmes in Initial Teacher Education (including Children with Special and Additional Needs, Literary Studies and Children’s Literature), Early Childhood Studies, and Physical Education and Sport.
