The Peacebuilding and Reconciliation Summer School at Stranmillis provides a unique opportunity to study the history Northern Ireland and it’s transformation from a society marked by violent political conflict in the past, towards a more peaceful and prosperous society. Students will have the opportunity to explore Irish history, geography, politics, culture and education, with a strong focus on social justice. The intersectionality of faith and society will also be discussed, with particular reference to the role played by churches in peacebuilding efforts and the ongoing work of faith based organisations in seeking to bring about reconciliation between divided communities.
