CHH525 Roots of Conflict: A History of Israel and Palestine Winter
£92.00
Comprehending the current situation in Israel and Palestine can seem like a daunting task, especially as there exist competing narratives that arouse strong emotions. The present social and political circumstances have been shaped by internal and external events, people, culture and religious beliefs both in the past and the present. This course is designed to provide a foundational understanding for students with limited to no knowledge. Together we will journey through history until the present day, examining the religious claims to the land, the events and people who have shaped culture and society as well as the political ideologies, such as Zionism and Palestinian Nationalism, that have competed with one another to claim the land, shaping society and how Israelis and Palestinians view one another.
