Who is the course for?
Working in close partnership with community-based organisations, Counting Together, Maths Made Fun is an engaging and informative learning programme for parents and carers of pre-school age children.
What is the aim of the course?
Maths is an essential part of everyday life. We use maths everyday, whether we notice it or not – when we are shopping, looking for the best value, best deals and best loans, when we are cooking, for personal finances, measuring things up, weighing things out, even looking at sports league league tables. Counting Together, Maths Made Fun is designed to help you to support your child’s first steps in numeracy learning and give them the best start in their everyday maths journey.
Why should I get involved?
Maths is an essential part of the school curriculum at every stage of your child’s school journey. The course will :
- Help you learn how to use low cost toys, storybooks, songs and activities to introduce maths at a young age.
- Help your little one to recognise colours, patterns, shapes and sizes.
- Provide you with a free resource pack so you can continue with fun learning at home.
Where will the courses be held?
The workshops will be delivered in community venues by friendly, trained facilitators, with a focus on fun, interactive and engaging activities you and your child can enjoy using low cost, play-based resources which introduce maths in a positive way. Details of courses running will be shown below in due course.
