The Insight Placement, undertaken in the final stages of teacher education, enables students to enhance their understanding of the wider education sector and to develop new professional partnerships and networks which will positively impact their future educational practice.

Each year, through the support and facilitation of the Education Authority, students have the opportunity to complete placement in alternative education provision, such Woodlands College and EOTAS centres across Northern Ireland.

Opportunities with organisations such as Sentinus, the Nerve Centre, Young Enterprise NI and Catalyst NI’s Generation Innovation programme ensure our student teachers develop a comprehensive awareness of the current educational eco-system in Northern Ireland and forge lasting partnerships which can enhance their educational practice in the classroom and extend the ex-curricular offering available to pupils.
