Life is full of changes! The 'Agony Aunts' lesson pack contains a lesson plan, audio story-lines and differentiated worksheets to aid class discussion and a creative writing activity. Pupils will write letters of advice to Charlotte as she prepares for the 'big move'.

Lesson Plan

Agony Aunts is a lesson designed to encourage pupils to develop a sense of empathy as they write letters of advice to Charlotte.

Children will:

  • Develop their creative writing skills as they write letters to Charlotte.
  • Be able to write for a variety of audiences and purposes.
  • Develop their sense of empathy.

Charlotte’s Mum Audio 1

Within the storyline, we see Charlotte acting distant because she is facing a big problem. But she isn’t just acting this way at school…it is happening at home too. Charlotte’s Mum is worried about her and she asks the children for help, hoping to make Charlotte feel better.

Charlotte Audio 2

In this audio clip, we hear from Charlotte herself. She has just received the letters sent to her in the post. She thanks the class for taking the time to write to her and make her feel much better.
